One Day
Here's a story that i know will bring a smile.
Awhile back i was clearing some pasture. The brush was thick, but the root was just below the soil,so i was able to pull most by hand.Mind you, this was new territory,so there were treasures to be found. One treasure in particular seemed promising.I bent down, wrapped my hand around it,and was bringing it up,then realized what i had.Cow pie. Most times this wouldn't be a problem,in solid form, but mine was oh so moist.Big Yuk.
Next time if it doesn't shine like silver, look like metal,it will stay put.

Tuesday's Heart break
Today began with a yellow Finch crashing into our patio door.Sad because he did not survive.
We have an abundance of birds, but each one is special.
On one of our downspouts we have baby Robins.Three to be exact.
Mom and Dad are awesome to watch, because they are both so attentive to their young.
We left, soon after, for an appointment in town, and grocery shopping.
We were gone about 3 hrs.
Our arrival home brought something not quite right to my line of vision.
The Robin's nest, there was something wrong.
As i walked over to investigate,i realized that a snake was completely wrapped around the nest.
My heart sunk, for i knew the babies would not survive.
Daniel shot the snake, and killed it,but the baby Robins were already gone.
As i watched, the Mom and Dad Robin explored the nest for any sign of life.
Tears were shed.
I know this is nature, but the fairness is off balanced.

The Setting
A home nestled,
among trees.
Windows spaced,
throughout.
Sunrise exploding,
across the valley.
Sunset escaping,
behind the ridge.
Distant sound,
of cargo trains.
A songbird to,
greet the morning,
and challenge a,
whistle.
Meandering cows,
tipping their heads,
for a blade of grass,
and a moo,
to onlookers.
Spring awakening,
with splashes,
of color.
Woodpeckers,
hammering away.
My world,
quiet,calm,
thoughtful,
inspiring.

To Share
As days inch longer,
Sun-shines warmth,
Seeps through every crevice.
As the ground awaits,
The hands of growth,
The birth of seeds.
Beware the birds,
For they know,
Extra pickings,
For their nose.
As blooms sprout,
Arrays of color,
Wings of joy,
Dot the fields.
For the ones,
With no flight,
The earth aligns,
With edible treats.
They gobble away,
Till fences erect,
Hold their pace.
For now they learn,
Sharing is born.
