As i sit, this peaceful morning, fan whirling, train whistle in the distance,
              i know serenity.
The days are getting longer, with pops of growth to be seen, and spring
              on the edge,waiting to blossom.
Chores will begin soon, with active critters waiting for their morning
              treats,and a Howdy from Mom,but for now,all is calm.
Each day brings a new endeavor.
We have cows, as you know.
Beautiful little red Heifers, to be exact,
              with darling personalities.
                    Betsy and Bashful!
As i sit at the picnic table, sun warming, i wonder why
Betsy is in one pasture, and Bassful in another,
              as they usually roam together.
Betsy noticed me, mooed, then came along the fence,
              so i went to explore.
She sure was in a tizzy, the closer i got.
As i looked towards the barn, i noticed the gate,
              between pastures, closed.
Their nature, rubbing on anything that will scratch the itch,
had worked the gate loose, from open to close.
                    Poor Betsy!
As i walked beside her, we chatted about the situation, and
how Mom was going to make it all better.
As soon as the gate opened, she smiled, thanked me,
              then proceeded to find Bashful.
                   One happy girl!
Our bond is forming, and sure feels good.
As for Bashful, for now she is curious, but stills stays skittish.
                   Time and patience!
                   Remember to smile!!
Amazing how a smile, makes a day brighter!

Chickens, oh what curious little creatures, they are.

Under foot, flying high, better watch your step, when near.

Always saying, "Pet me Mom".

We have one old girl, i call granny.

She's always yiping, when i'm around.

Can't give her enough attention.

Each day, as i clean the coop,

   underfoot, is an understatement.

Each one, squawking for attention.

So i stop, give each one a pet, and rub,

and for awhile, they are appeased.

Last chore, changing water.

You'd have thought, i was giving them a golden egg.

They love when i spill.

Funny, how such a small act, brings such joy!
